The primary school in Bosham is a popular feature for couples with young children wanting to move to the coastal location.

Living in Bosham

Within Bosham there are three prominent neighbourhoods of Broadbridge, Bosham Hoe and Bosham Village. Broadbridge houses the railway station and is directly linked to London, Brighton and Portsmouth, making it extremely easy if you work in a city. Bosham Hoe is a hamlet and estate on the shore of Chichester Harbour and Bosham Village is surrounded by stunning greenery on its southern peninsula.

Whilst Chichester is known for its historic Cathedral, Bosham's Holy Trinity Church was first built in Anglo-Saxon times and has been noted in the Domesday book, with most of its original architecture still standing today. Towards to the coast, the Chichester Harbour has been noted as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is home to five species of fauna that are recognised as internationally important.

Bosham's History

Like most of Chichester, Bosham's history dates back to the Roman times. There are many buildings that are considered to be of great importance that have been found in Bosham, including temples and theatres and is of course home to the Bosham Head. There are many myths and legends surrounding Bosham, but perhaps one of its bigger claims to fame is that it was mentioned by name in the famous Bayeux Tapestry, as the meeting place between Harold Godwinson and Edward the Confessor to discuss who would succeed Edward to the throne.
