Situated on the South Coast, Worthing is a large seaside town, known for its impressive pier and exhibiting Britain's greatest concentration of Stone Age flint mines.

Until the late 18th century, the area was a tiny fishing village and as population grew, developed into a Georgian seaside resort. The town now has an estimated population of 104,600, establishing the second largest town in the Brighton, Worthing and Littlehampton conurbation.

Situated on the foot of the South Downs, Worthing is a vibrant town, offering an array of entertainment, shopping, food and family fun by the seaside!

The wide-open prom allows room for a brisk walk or active cycle, whilst you view the endless horizon of blue sea. On the beach, you will also find the famous Worthing pier. The Southern Pavilion is perfectly located to explore the heart of the town’s entertainment, with The Pavilion Theatre at the northern end and cafes, a nightclub and amusement arcade at the South.

How far is Worthing from London?

Worthing is an ideal location for commuters who want to work in the lively city but have the benefits of coming home to the tranquil sound of crashing waves.

In total Worthing has five train stations; East Worthing, West Worthing, Durrington-on-Sea, Goring-by-Sea and Worthing railway station. Worthing railway station is the largest of the five stations, operating services directly to London.

Every half an hour, services run to London Victoria, taking an average time of 1hr 30minutes. For commuters by car, driving distance is approximately 62 miles, taking around 1hr 20minutes via either the A24 or A23.

Worthing is also 18 miles east of the county town, Chichester.
